Heels & Yield is a financial education company for women at the intersection of wealth & wellness. Founded by an investment professional, we want to make investing fashionable for women. We also want to help women achieve financial freedom while keeping a balanced lifestyle that isn’t solely focused on becoming “rich.”
Heels & Yield is developing workshops, online courses, and programs that provide in-depth training to women on exactly how to start planning their finances and achieve their dreams. We are looking for a passionate and experienced individual to join our team and help create content that serves both our existing and prospective clients.
As a content writer, you’ll help us continue to develop our voice for educated women who want solid, accessible information about investing and personal finance. You’ll be comfortable writing about financial topics as well as wellness and staying motivated.

Responsibilities:

  1. Work with Marketing team to write Heels & Yield bimonthly financial newsletter – helping them understand what the biggest stories of the day mean for them
  2. Share insights and guidance with the Heels & Yield community via our social media channels – Increasing awareness of the importance of financial planning for women and how we can help
  3. Curate and write stories in the Heels & Yield format
  4. Collaborate with a team of writers, editors, and marketers
  5. Contribute to new content initiatives and campaigns – our ultimate goal is to help them understand investing and to take their finances into their own hands
  6. Conduct supplementary research to support and enhance difficult financial topics
  7. Work with the product team to develop content on financial topics for workshops

 

Requirements:

  1. Experience writing for finance-related publications aimed at a general readership, with an ability to come up with an analysis or a “point of view” when it comes to how people should make sense of financial news
  2. Ability to channel H&Y investment expertise into easy-to-understand language
  3. Experience writing about financial markets, stocks, investing and personal finance
  4. Ability to write about wellness and how it can play into investing and personal finance
  5. A strong ability to understand and explain macroeconomic trends and concepts
  6. An ability to interpret and explain the performance of individual companies
  7. Able to explain complex concepts with simple language
  8. Creativity and ability to apply Heels & Yield tone of voice into the writing
  9. A willingness to work according to the newsflow (some late nights are necessary)
  10. A self-starter
  11. A strong desire to work in a startup environment!
